THERE ARE MANY SITUATIONS WHERE RELIABLE POWER IS NEEDED IN VERY REMOTE LOCATIONS AND GRID SUPPLY IS NOT AVAILABLE. In these situations the cost of getting fuel to site is substantial and requires major logistic.
Typical examples are research, monitoring and security. Powering these needs by running a generator 24/7 can be hugely wasteful of fuel and so unnecessarily expensive requiring frequent visits to refuel and carry out maintenance. Often these sites have very modest power needs but the smallest generators are not reliable enough to be left for long periods unattended.
Hybrid solutions have significant impact in reducing refuelling and servicing needs as well as the environmental impact that is also enjoyed. TV and film production in remote locations is common and in these circumstances high quality power without noise and interruption is a pre-requisite. As with other applications, fuel economy and environmental impact are also considerations. The power converters in our battery storage units produce very high quality electricity that will exceed the stability of power from any diesel generator and often is better than the grid supply.
